In March 2026, the Bank of Mongolia (Mongolbank) purchased 949.5 kg of precious metals, bringing the total accumulated purchases since the beginning of the year to 3.2 tons.

Of the total amount purchased in March, 101.7 kg was sourced through the Mongolbank branch in Darkhan-Uul aimag, while 720.4 kg was acquired through the branch in Bayankhongor aimag. The total volume of precious metals purchased in March represents a 48 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The purchase price of precious metals by the Bank of Mongolia is determined based on global market rates. In March 2026, the average purchase price for gold stood at 560,486 MNT per gram.
